THE WIZARD OF OZ - Cowardly Lion
“The tour de force of the show was Kathryn Lumpkin's performance as the Cowardly Lion, curly-haired and shaking in her fur, with natural vocal strength and warmth and a gorgeous guttural purr. She minced about the stage, ebullient with an effervescent, feminine energy that was almost like that of a children's show host. Her over-the-top humor helped balance some jokes that went over the audience's head, as well as a few groan-worthy puns.”
Hayley Rushing - The Washington Post
“As the Lion, Kathryn Lumpkin handled her role exceptionally well. Not only did she master the Lion's
fundamentally masculine traits, but she added to the performance by thoroughly developing the Lion's
character, keeping the audience laughing and interested.”
Sam Wilmott -The Washington Post
THE MUSIC MAN - Marian Paroo
“But Kathryn Lumpkin, playing librarian Marian Paroo, captured the drama and emotion with subtler physical characterizations and an angelic voice.”
Hayley Rushing - The Washington Post
THE GOOD TIME ARE KILLING ME - Lucy
“Kathryn Lumpkin captured Edna's 6-year-old sister Lucy, with remarkable childlike energy.”
Sarah Wilson - The Washington Post
